7 Hot Chocolate Recipes to Help You Get Your Hygge On
Following on from our Hygge theme a big Hyggelig favourite is hot chocolate. Chocolate and being cosy all wrapped up in one. So we thought we’d go hot choctastic and bring you a roundup of the very best hot chocolate recipes and ideas around:
Hot Chocolate Bar
This is the ultimate hot choc extravaganza. Think hot chocolate toppings all laid out like a sweet buffet surrounding a slow cooker full of the creamiest yummiest hot choc around. Ladel cups of hot choc from the slow cooker then top with the array of goodies. Make a party of it, invite people round and make it Proper Hygge. See these hot chocolate bar ideas and inspiration here. We did this at Xmas with the kids and added a kick of Baileys for the grown ups cups.
Unicorn hot chocolate
We’ve featured unicorns a lot in our packs over the months and even gave rainbows and unicorns its very own them in February we LOVE unicorns. So what better than a beautiful unicorn hot chocolate recipe to make you feel cozily sparkly.
Oreo hot chocolate
How perfect perfectly lush does that sound. This recipe involves crumbling Oreos into hot milk and cooking it through, straining the Oreos from the mixture so just milk is left then melting dark chocolate and adding the Oreo milk to it. A final flourish of whipped cream and crumbled Oreos make this Oreo laden perfection.
Nutella hot chocolate
Love Nutella? Love hot chocolate? Think it’s a dream combination? Yes it is! This scrumptious recipe from a beautiful mess is rich and velvety balanced by the cinamon and a dash of salt to make a hot chocolate sensation.
Red Velvet Hot chocolate
My fave cake combined into a hot chocolate sounds just too good to be true. Cocoa, vanilla and sugar combined with warm milk and red food colouring to give the distributive red velvet look then sweet vanilla flavoured cream topped with choc chips means this looks as good as its namesake.
Coconut Milk Gingerbread Hot Chocolate
If like me your dairy intolerant then you still crave the thick creamy hit of hot chocolate without the dairy. This recipe uses coconut milk and combines flavours that make you feel warm and wintery too.
White Hot Chocolate
As crazy as it sounds not everyone loves milk or dark chocolate so this white choc recipe is a great compromise or just a good way to enjoy a different flavour hot choc. Vanilla white choc and a pinch of salt combine to make a sweet, scrummy, creamy treat.
